How much does jewelry repair cost?
Chain repair starts at $35 for 10K, 14K, and 18K gold. Rope chain repair starts at $45. Ring resizing starts at $50. Polishing is $25 and takes about 1 hour. Stone setting and replacement pricing varies based on the stone and complexity — each piece is inspected under a microscope by our specialist before quoting.
Do you offer jewelry appraisals for insurance?
Yes, we provide jewelry appraisals for insurance purposes with detailed documentation and accurate valuations of your fine jewelry, including gold, diamonds, and gemstones. We also offer estate, divorce, and fair market value appraisals.
Can you test if my gold is real?
Yes. We use X-ray fluorescence (XRF) testing to verify gold content and purity. This service is complimentary for ArtGold customers and first-time visitors. For non-customers, there is a $15 fee. Results are provided while you wait.
Do you repair watches?
We offer watch battery replacement and band sizing, completed while you wait. By ArtGold policy, the customer must remain in the store until the service is completed. We do not allow watches to leave the premises during service.
How long does jewelry repair take?
Most repairs take 1–2 business days. Polishing takes about 1 hour and can be done while you wait. Watch battery and band sizing are completed while you wait. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis, but we respect urgent requests for special occasions.
Do I need an appointment for jewelry services?
Walk-ins are welcome at our Everett showroom for consultations and simple services like battery replacement and gold testing. For more complex repairs and appraisals, we recommend requesting an estimate in advance to ensure prompt service.
Where is ArtGold Jewelry located?
ArtGold Jewelry is located at 159 Main Street, Everett, MA 02149, just outside Boston. We are open Monday through Friday 9AM to 6PM, and Saturday 9AM to 4PM. We are closed on Sunday.
Do you clean jewelry?
Yes. We offer complimentary cleaning for first-time visitors and all ArtGold customers. For non-customers, cleaning is $25 per piece. We clean fine jewelry (gold, platinum, and silver with gemstones).
Do you offer a guarantee on repairs?
We inspect every piece before accepting the work, document repairs with photographs, and explain the risks before we begin. Some delicate or damaged pieces cannot be guaranteed because jewelry repair depends on the condition of the metal, stones, and previous work. We will always be clear before taking the job.
Can I send my jewelry by mail?
Yes, we serve customers outside Greater Boston by mail. However, do not send jewelry without first contacting ArtGold to request an RMA number. We will provide shipping instructions and tracking information. All mail-in repairs require RMA authorization.
Can I wait while my jewelry is being serviced?
Yes. For polishing (about 1 hour) and watch services, you can wait in our showroom. For watch battery and band sizing, you must remain in the store until the service is completed — this is our policy.
